Tim Fain
Avery Fisher Career Grant-winning violinist Tim Fain was seen and heard on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack of feature film Black Swan, as well as 12 Years a Slave. He has appeared as soloist with the Baltimore and Pittsburgh Symphonies, Hague Philharmonic, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and National Orchestra of Spain, among others. He performs world-wide in a duo evening with composer Philip Glass, and appeared at Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Spoleto, Ravinia and Santa Fe Festivals. His discography for Via, Naxos, and other labels includes “First Loves,” “Arches,” “River of Light,” and Glass’s Duo Concerto. His solo multi-media evening “Portals” premiered to sold-out houses, and includes collaborations with Benjamin Millepied, Leonard Cohen, filmmaker Kate Hackett, and radio personality Fred Child. Fain recently collaborated with Google on a virtual reality video for his piece "Resonance," introducing 360 stereoscopic capability for YouTube, and played at Sundance.
